Paank expresses profound concern over the decision by Pakistan’s Apex Committee to launch a large-scale military operation in Balochistan, which has led to widespread civilian suffering. Reports from the ground indicate that combat helicopters have been targeting civilian areas in Nushki district for the past two days, while intense shelling is being carried out in Dera Bugti’s Lop Sehrani and Chabdar regions, destroying homes and endangering lives.
This military campaign appears to be yet another attempt to suppress the legitimate struggle of the Baloch people for their fundamental rights, freedom, and self-determination. Decades of enforced disappearances, extrajudicial killings, and violent crackdowns have only deepened the resistance of the Baloch people, further entrenching the conflict.
Paank categorically condemns the use of military aggression against civilians and calls on the Pakistani authorities to immediately cease these operations. The targeting of civilian populations is a gross violation of international human rights and humanitarian law, and such actions perpetuate cycles of violence while obstructing any path to a peaceful resolution.
We urge Pakistan to end its military occupation of Balochistan, engage in constructive dialogue, and commit to addressing the long-standing grievances of Baloch people. Suppression and violence are not solutions; they only fuel further conflict and suffering. We also call on the international community to intervene and hold Pakistan accountable for these actions.
The aspirations and rights of the Baloch people can not be extinguished through force. Peace and justice can only be achieved through an end to oppression and the recognition of their rights.
