Cases of Enforced Disappearances
In July 2025, multiple cases of enforced disappearances and illegal detentions were reported across 14 districts of Balochistan, including Karachi, Dera Ghazi Khan and Islamabad Cases of enforced disappearances.
Kech (29) and Quetta (17) district have recorded the highest number of incidents of forcibly disappeared. Total cases of enforced disappearances in month of July 96. In the month of July 40 People were released after mental and physical torture across Balochistan.
Arbitrary Prosecution of an 8-Year-Old Child
Shoaib Khalid, an 8-year-old boy from Absar Turbat, against whom a FIR was lodged, leading to his presentation before an Anti-Terrorism-Court on July 31, 2025, for terrorism charges related to sharing a Tik Tok video. The video allegedly contained a speech by Baloch rights activist Gulzar Dost, who was arrested and later released on bail for advocating for better education, health and job facilities in the region. Charging a minor for a social media post is a gross violation of human rights and an attempt to silence the Baloch community’s right to free expression.
Rocket Attack by Frontier Corps (FC) on Civilians in Gwrkop, District Kech, Balochistan, July 10th
On July 10th, Frontier Corps (FC) forces reportedly launched a rocket attack targeting civilians in the Gwrkop area of District Kech, Balochistan. The rocket struck a local playground where several young boys were sitting and playing. As a result of the explosion, seven individuals sustained serious injuries.
Tragically, one of the injured, a youth named Ali Ghulam, later succumbed to his wounds and was martyred. Another victim, Shahab Dostdil remains in a coma and is currently undergoing treatment at a hospital in Karachi due to a severe head injury. The remaining five individuals also sustained critical injuries and are receiving medical care.
This attack has caused deep concern and outrage among the local population, who blame the FC for what they describe as an unprovoked and deliberate assault on civilians in a peaceful area. Residents are demanding justice and accountability for the victims and have called for an immediate and impartial investigation into the incident.
Extrajudicial Killings
The extrajudicial killings by Pakistani forces in Balochistan continue unabated. The Pakistani military is reportedly detaining and killing individuals without due process for undisclosed reasons. In the month of July 19 people were extrajudicially killed.
Karim Jan:
On February 23, 2025, Karim Jan son of Azeem Baloch, resident of Kandari area of Mashkai was forcibly disappeared by Pakistani forces. On July 13, 2025 his bullet-riddled body discovered from his hometown.
Hammal Baloch:
Hammal Baloch son of Wahid Bakhsh, resident of Gomazi area of Tump tehsil of Kech district, a driver by profession, who was shot dead on July 13,2025 in Jousak area of Turbat.
Ghulam Jan
On the night of July 13, 2025, Ghulam Jan son of Bejar Baloch, resident of Pahu area of Awaran, was abducted from his home by state-backed death squad. Hours later, his bullet-riddled body was found dumped in the Kulli area of Kolowa in Awaran district of Balochistan.
Azmat Rind
Azmat Rind son of Ameer Bakhsh, a resident of Dera Murad Jamali, was forcibly disappeared by Pakistani military personnel on June 5, 2025 near Sabzi Mandi, Naseerabad. After over a month in illegal custody, Pakistani forces informed his family on July 9, 2025 that Azmat had died from injuries inflicted under torture.
Mujahid Baloch
Mujahid Baloch son of Khair Jan, a resident of Kharan, was shot dead on July 17,2025 in the busy market of Kharan city by the members of the state-backed death squad an armed group operating under the protection of the Pakistani army.
Shah Dur Mengal
Shah Dur Mengal son ofr Aman Ullah Mengal, a resident of Nokundi area of Chagi district, was brutally killed by direct fire from the Pakistan,s Federal Constabulary forces, while driving his oil transport pickup. Shah Dur, a civilian engaged in cross-border fuel trade between Iran and Pakistan, was the sole provider for his family.
Hameed Baloch
15-year-old Hameed Baloch, son of Afzal Channel and a resident of Koto Jahoo in Awaran district was forcibly disappeared by Pakistani forces on July 16, 2025. His bullet-riddled body was discovered from his hometown on July 21, 2025.
Nazeer Ahmed
On July 21, 2025, Nazeer Ahmed son of Brahim Baloch, a resident of Jalai Khan Village area of Jahoo tehsil of Awaran district was forcibly disappeared by state-backed death squads from his home. Hours later his bullet-riddled body was found in the same area.
Noor Khan
On July 21,2025 Noor Khan son Amir Bakhsh, a resident of Jahoo tehsil of Awaran district was forcibly disappeared from his home by state-backed death squads. Hours later his bullet-riddled was found in the same area.
Qamber Aslam
On July 18, 2025, Qamber Aslam, an innocent child and agriculture labourer working at a tube well, was fatally shot in the chest by a Pakistani forces patrol team while heading to plant onions in his fields.
Mazar Baloch
On July 21, 2025, Mazar Baloch son of Jamal Khan was summoned by the Pakistani army to appear at the central cantonment in Mashkai, complying with the order, he presented himself as required. Tragically on his return, he was targeted and killed by an armed death squad operating under the supervision of the Pakistani army in Kandari Mashkai.
On July 25, 2025, Dr Abdul Majeed Mengal including his 2 guests Atta Ur Reham Mengal and Mumtaz Mengal were detained from Dr, s house in Wadh area of Khuzdar district. On the next morning they were extrajudicially killed and their bodies were found M8 road in Sourgaz area of Khuzdar.
Three mutilated bodies were recovered from the Kohak area of Kalat district of Balochistan on July 29, 2025. Local sources said that the bodies were found near Mangochar Dam with their facial features disfigured using acid, making identification extremely difficult. On July 29, 2025, Shah Jehan son of Murad was forcibly disappeared from the Chitkan area of Panjgur by Pakistani security forces. After severe tortures in custody, his lifeless body was discovered from Panjgur on August 4, 2025.
